Nope

they were saying on the radio, it doesn’t matter once a warning has been issued. Can nick a jersey or knuckle and they still get thrown out.

by BrewKitty on Apr 27, 2009 9:10 PM CDT up reply actions

That's obviously not true

Since Chavez was not tossed.

"I didn't realize his velocity was that high," said Macha, noting that radar readings aren't flashed during exhibition games.

by battlekow on Apr 27, 2009 9:11 PM CDT up reply actions

Odd.

They made a big deal out of it — like pitchers couldn’t be comfortable working the inside at all.

by BrewKitty on Apr 27, 2009 9:14 PM CDT up reply actions

They always make a big deal out of it

It’s not unimportant; there’s always the chance that someone like Hoolio will uncork a severely wild fastball and get tossed because it’s impossible to tell whether or not he did it on purpose. But it’s silly to think Chavez is going to get run for grazing the jersey of Jason “Nancy” Kendall to load the bases.

"I didn't realize his velocity was that high," said Macha, noting that radar readings aren't flashed during exhibition games.

by battlekow on Apr 27, 2009 9:15 PM CDT up reply actions

Umpire's discretion

It’s Jesse Chavez pitching to Jason Kendall. One guy gets hit all the time and the other thinks control is a Janet Jackson song.

it's not cheering on a player who's not a Brewer in real life

the sim version of Mat Gamel is not affecting anything in the real world whatsoever (except perhaps ticking off one’s SO because of spending too much alone time with the console.)

I think we’ve just mocked enough fantasy owners to quiet down the discussion.
