"A visit with head team physician William Raasch revealed that Rivera's left ankle injury was "more serious than that thought," according to the player.

The Brewers will promote Carlos Corporan from Nashville and add him to the 40-man roster."

Rottino

I hope he would get the call just because he’s but willing to do pretty much anything the team asks him. My guess is that they make some other move though.

Lucroy

according to the link, he was a non-roster invitee to spring training and isn’t on the 40-man.

by PagsBrewCrew on Apr 29, 2009 4:55 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

What do you mean, could be called up without having to be added to the 40-man?

Anyone called up would have to be on the 40-man roster.

"I didn't realize his velocity was that high," said Macha, noting that radar readings aren't flashed during exhibition games.

Nevermind, I understand what you were saying; I'm going to edit it to make it more clear

McCalvy edited his post to reflect that Lucroy isn’t on the 40-man.

"I didn't realize his velocity was that high," said Macha, noting that radar readings aren't flashed during exhibition games.

Thanks for clarifying.

Has Craig Counsell ever caught

The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws.

Not professionally

But he probably would put on the gear without being asked.

he was

3rd on our depth chart mid season last year.

by PagsBrewCrew on Apr 29, 2009 6:37 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

He would be fourth this year if that was the case.

I recall hearing that McGehee is our “emergency catcher.”

That move came just after 6 p.m. CT. The Brewers will promote Carlos Corporan from Nashville and add him to the 40-man roster

Wow

That’s a bit of a surprise. But from what I’ve seen of Salome, he looks lost at AAA so far.

by Tom (RFTN) on Apr 29, 2009 6:47 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Not really surprising at all.

They want Salome to play every day so he keeps improving. He won’t do that here, so why bring him up and let him sit on the bench?

Corporan is perfectly capable of doing what a backup catcher will do for the Brewers – warm some guys up in the bullpen, pick his nose, and maybe make one plate appearance.

I rolled my ankle playing softball last night

WHILE wearing an ankle brace.

I HATE ANKLE INJURIES.

I rolled my ankle or something in the infancy of my relationship with a certain blogger

I tried to throw a rock at the window all cute like, while doing a “basketball” jump, landed odd, and that was our first or second week together.

I also hate ankle injuries.

you should know that you should aim down to hit his window, not up, as he lives in his mothers basement

I love ankle injuries.

I don’t know what all the fuss is about. :-)

It was tough to watch and not really know what was going on

I think this was the pitch that ended up causing the problem:

And this was the aftermath:

They didn’t really announce what had happened at all, so we just assumed that something was up with his knee. I’m glad that they clarified. He tried to catch for a little while longer, but they finally switched him for Kendall.

(Sorry the pictures are so big)

Your first pic shows the Brewers batting

Unless Rivera did something while swinging, I don’t think that’s it. :)

In general, with images

you can add a width=“300” or another pixel number in the code, after the img=“xxx” string of code. Probably good to know for game threads as well. I like those ones nice and big though.

Scored three times and detonated an indisputable in four visits to the batting box.
