2009 Nashville Sounds Roster Announced
Remember when Trot Nixon was released after being told there weren't many at bats available for him in AAA, a week before Jason Tyner was signed to start in left? Do you recall waiver claim Joe Koshansky stealing Scott Thorman's roster spot? Know how the Brewers braintrust felt there wasn't room for Joe Bateman in Nashville? All of those moves have resulted in a Doug Melvin-approved Nashville roster.

Why was Koshansky released from both the Rockies and Rangers in the matter of a couple of months?
With a line of 300/379/604/983 why wouldn’t he even be worth something in a trade?

he’s getting old for the minors, he can only play first base, and those numbers came in Colorado Springs, which is a hitters’ paradise.
Also, cheese.

Just out of interest
Having looked at the roster who would have player 1st if Koshansky had not been signed?

T-Rats Roster
Any idea when the Timber Rattlers will finalize their roster? I can’t wait to head up to Appleton some weekend and see some of the prospects in person.

They've got an exhibition scrimmage on Tuesday in Appleton
So chances are the guys that will start with the team will be known by then. I don’t know when they’ll officially set the active roster other than by Thursday for the first game.

Koshansky
JoKo has mad power. He is a very classy young man. He will succeed at whatever level he plays as he always rises to the top – as he has in the past. Very even tempered and a true leader. He has a UVA degree in Economics, so he is very smart. Watch out IF he gets a chance at MIL, he will do well. He has been roadblocked for 4 years, but he will have Top 10 numbers when he gets more at bats. He tore up AAA for the last few years and he is very hungry,,,,,watch out.

Economics
I wonder if he and Capuano (economics from Duke) will get along in Nashville.
