Timber Rattlers roster released

Most interesting things I see: What a pitching staff--it's so cool that this team is so close to Milwaukee. I can't wait to get up there and see some of these guys throw. Shawn Zarraga got skipped past Helena and straight to full-season ball, which is a nice vote of confidence; he could give us a third really interesting catching prospect by the end of the year. Edgar Trejo is also pretty much skipping Helena after only playing in three games there last year before blowing out his knee; he's only 19, so that's kind of surprising. Also, where's Chris Dennis?

No Odorizzi?
Hopefully he’s up there sometime in the year. It’d be great to see him and Lawrie up there this year.

Odorizzi didn't even get a late-season bump to Helena last year
I think you’ll see the Brewers be very cautious with him and Lintz, at least for awhile.

Understandable. He’s really young as well anyway. Don’t want to rush him into a huge innings pitched mark at a young age, or get him shook up in A ball when he isn’t ready.
Really looking forward to see Lawrie in person though.

You heard it here first
the two-headed behemoth Lintzorizzi heading up the Brewers’ rotation in 2014

That
is just awesome. Can’t wait to see Lawrie hit – might not be so exciting to watch him fail at 2nd

Thursday!
Get to freeze my butt off drinking dollar beers and watching the rattlers. Should be a good day…

I'm going Thursday, too
should be a little bit warmer than today, anyway.

Might not be able to Thursday, but we'll see
I will be going to several other games soon though (for sure by late April), and I definitely will then.
I hope Scarpetta pitches on opening night. I think it might be Adams, though. Or if they stretch out Wily.
Oh, and in a mildly related note, Brad Schreiber hit 92 pitching for the high school team in Chicago on Saturday.

Because I'm too lazy to cross reference different web sites
can anyone provide a quick and dirty list of other non-Brewers blue-chippers in the Midwest League worth thinking about when scheduling a trip to Appleton?

Happily, someone just did it for you (unless that is you).

Figuring out rotation
How many SPs would they use? I have those 2 tickets I won through here, and I’d like to time it to see Scarpetta start and Lawrie playing. Does the rotation work any different in A ball compared to the majors?
For example, if I were to see that Scarpetta is starting one day, would I be correct to assume he’ll start the 5th game after that?

Who are the first eight guys you're so excited about? :)
And “Hook” is an excellent name for a pitching coach.

Oh and really
when I found out I was going to that game, I thought “Wouldn’t it be fun to get to watch Scarpetta and Nieves?”

good thing Jack Z took the Mariners job
otherwise, Scarpetta and Nieves would be permanently moved to the bullpen by now.
Also, cheese.

Lookout Landing is just so awesome
I laughed out loud reading their Aumont thread, several times. Stuff like:
SO IN THEORY THE GAMES ONLY NEED TO BE 6 INNINGS LONG FROM NOW ON
SO IN FACT IF THE GAME IS RAIN SHORTENED WE ONLY NEED 3 INNINGS OF STARTING PITCHING
I LIKA THE WAY OU THINK MR Z
Also, they’re speculating about how hard Strasburg will be able to throw out of the bullpen.

I think King Felix would be an excellent closer, too.

Maybe they can ditch the traditional starting rotation
And move everybody to the bullpen. Every pitcher will be a situational guy. Who’s pitching will depend on who’s batting.

Kind of like the Mariners?
