Tony Gwynn Jr increasing his trade value
Just what I like to see
battlekow: Bill is having an oppo-gasm
Not to burst your bubble
But the odds of Gwynn going anywhere until the centerfield situation for 2010 is sorted out are minimal. With Cam too expensive, Cain potentially delayed due to injury and what’s available via FA not that much better, TGJr has the inside track on being your 2010 opening day starting CF.

I was having a good morning until you said that.

Do you disagree
or just blocked the possibility from your mind?

Just because he exists and is in the organization doesn't give him the inside track on being the Opening Day starter
I think the team has pretty clearly measured him and found him wanting as far as a starting outfielder goes (hence signing Cameron in the first place). If Cameron leaves, they’ll trade or sign someone (your Opening Day 2010 starting center fielder: Alejando De Aza!).

Personally
I’m counting on Turnbow following Ankiel’s career track. It’s been pretty close so far…
Also, cheese.

Duffy or Gwynn?
After the small sample size of this season, I almost wouldn’t mind seeing Duffy in CF if Cain can’t go… Or at least I would rather see Duffy instead of Gwynn

I'm guessing outside.

Gwynn - *Small sample warning*
How does a lefty go .459/.447/.676 for a 1.123OPS….against lefties???
And he doesn’t even get to face Lindsay Gulin!
