I think Sean recently did some work
moving “active” guys to “retired” status, and it doesn’t just affect guys who officially retired this past offseason. There might be six guys ahead of him who stopped playing in the last, say, three years.

Depends who was considered active
Jeff Kent, Frank Thomas, Barry Bonds, Damion Easley, Shawn Green, and Mike Lieberthal all were ahead of Catalanotto and finished playing in 2007 or 2008.

…at the career HBP mark before he’s done. That’s number 236. The record either belongs to Craig Biggio (285) or Hughie Jennings (287) depending on how early you start counting. He’s probably 3-4 more fullish seasons away from getting there, and he’s a 35 year old catcher who already can’t hit.
IOW, probably a big long shot, but he’s got a chance…

I’m not a fan of either one, but it is interesting that Gabe Gross took so much crap for his Christian rock entrance song, but everyone is gung-ho about Hells Bells. BCB must be quite a relgious bunch.
