Melvin said he’d play two of every three games at second, which sure makes it sound as if he’ll be called up soon, because why else screw with the guy?

Normally I'd be concerned about screwing a guy up

But Escobar is already above average defensively at the most difficult position on the field. After a few weeks, I’m sure he would be at least an average defensive 2nd baseman.

The thing I like about Escobar over Iribarren, is that Escobar is a potential leadoff guy who steals a lot of bases. With Hernan, I’d just go ahead and bat him 7th or 8th
