Mike Jones throwing 94
In terms of the draft and prospect world, the 26-year-old Jones is almost ancient history. He was the 12th overall pick in the 2001 draft out of an Arizona high school, and he had a very impressive start to his career before being completely sidetracked by both Tommy John surgery and a procedure on his shoulder. That combination would normally get a guy written off, but to Jones' credit, he's worked hard to come back, and while he's hardly a top prospect, he's being noticed by scouts after reaching 94 mph in the Florida State League and tossing six shutout frames over the weekend in his first Double-A start of the year. It's hard not to root for him.

Good News...
Add to that the reports that Mark Rogers is hitting 97, and it looks like two of the top pitching prospects of the past for the Brewers might still make it.
Always interesting to think what our pitching staff could have been.
Could either of those guys be converted into a closer/late inning reliever a la Kerry Wood?
:) + Suppan = :'(
I’m starting to think Mike Jones may still have a legitimate shot at the majors, whether its as a starter or a reliever. Last year, the goal was to get through the season without any injuries, soreness, etc. He did that, so now it seems that he’s free to focus on results. So far, so good. I’m happy for him.

It would be very nice
If either Jones or Rogers could make it to the show in 2 or 3 years and perform decently – would shore up both starting rotation and money issues.
And, it might scare Jeffress into performing.
maybe we need to get Jeffress a new stash
maybe he only pitches well when he’s all relaxed-like from the pot.
Give him Michael Phelps’s phone number?
