Around SBN: Knicks 90, Raptors 87: "Shump and Lin wouldn't let us lose."

I've been waiting for Hulet to get around to doing the Brewers just so I can see Brent Brewer named as the worst pick of the 2006 draft.

Lee Haydel?

Didn’t expect that.

Scored three times and detonated an indisputable in four visits to the batting box.

According To That Post...

Lawrie is playing poor defense at 2nd. Yet most of the stories I read on him say he’s playing solid defense and has excellent work ethic.

Does anyone know which it is? Has anyone seen him play…?

Pretty much everyone that's seen him play, including myself, thinks he looks raw

But he’s shown good range, a great arm (not that that matters much at second base), and obvious athleticism. I think all these reports about him being horrible/laughable/a mockery of the game are sourced from spring training, when he had barely played (thanks, Kevin Goldstein!). He seems to be progressing rapidly and I expect he’ll be fine, though I also wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up at third at some point in the future.

"I didn't realize his velocity was that high," said Macha, noting that radar readings aren't flashed during exhibition games.

Thanks...

..for the Info.

I wouldn’t mind Lawrie sliding over to third if he has a cannon arm and a strong work ethic….maybe move Taylor Green back over to 2nd which from what I understand is his natural position.

That would give the team probable solutions at 2nd & 3rd for the future…with the strong assumption that Gamel won’t stick at 3rd, and that likelihood that Weeks will become too pricey to keep in Milwaukee after his arb years are over.

His arm won't be utilized as much at 2B.

But it is still an asset. He’s going to have plenty of cutoff throws to third and home when the other team is trying to get an extra base off our outfielders.

:) + Suppan = :'(
