If I went
I’d hope that he’d take after R Kelly just this once:
“Then after the show its the after party
and after the party its the hotel lobby
and round about 4 you gotta clear the lobby
then head take it to the room and freak somebody .”
Hells yeah.

You'd let Braun stick his key in your ignition all right

is this the time to mention
that I saw Braun coming out of the team hotel on Sunday?
(I was on the other side of the street on my way to the library. Really.)

"Proper attire required"
I guess that means I can’t go

I guess that also means nobody should be wearing any Remetee.
That can’t ever be considered “proper attire”, can it?

Sad isn't the word I'd use.
“Frustrating” is. While the Brewers are struggling, I’d like to see Braun demonstrating other priorities besides hanging out in night clubs shilling his clothing line.

The man has other business priorities
He’s still the best hitter on the team. We can’t expect the independant contractors that are our players to be 100% focused on the team 100% of the time. Hell, Elway had car dealerships, Jordan had business interests outside the game. Every player does. The man is allowed to do what he wants. I highly doubt he was solely responsible for organizing this party. It’s an obligation he has to his other business. He is entitled to that. I hate to make you the example on this KL, but you do have a day job. Is it fair to us when you have to go off on your responsibilities at the neglect of this blog? Are we entitled to complain? Of course the answer is no.
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."

quick clarification
I didn’t mean to imply that you have ever neglected this blog. You do an excellent job.

Of course he does :)
It’s worth wondering, though, if the Brewers can win without the rally lobster or KL. I mean, this wedding business should be waiting until the off-season right? Isn’t a honeymoon just a reaaaalllly long, big sexy party?

Is that responsible?

The difference between Braun and me
Or, at least, the one that’s relevant to this conversation, is that I’m pretty easy to replace. If I need to step away for a bit, someone else can write here and the site’s quality remains about the same, maybe better.
But if Braun is out all night hosting a party tomorrow and then sucks on Saturday because of it, there’s no replacement for him.

Thats true
but if your blog duties affect your work, then your employer has a reason to complain.
If braun has certain duties to his business, then he has to fulfill those duties. I’m not seeing where hosting this party has anything to do with how the team is playing. If they took 2 out of 3 from St. Louis, would it be a different story?
Ideally, the team should come first, but this is modern sports. Players have businesses on the side. Sometimes their duties to their business keep them out until 1 am when the have a game the next day scheduled for 6. Considering the players arrive around 1 or 2 for this game, I’m pretty sure he’s going to be fine.
It’s not like he’s an idiot and is going to be hammering shots all night. He knows his responsibilities to his main paying job, and will fulfill those duties.

Who is to say he doesn't go out anyways?
Just because this event is public knowledge now gives us the opportunity to rip it?
I would also argue that because he’s hosting the party and because it’s a business gathering that he’ll be in better shape than if he just went out. Meaning, because this is a business venture he has to look/act professional so he won’t be getting drunk.
Frankly, I think this is much ado about nothing.

So it would be okay if Nelson, Duffy, Riske, or Julio did it?
After all, they’re pretty easy to replace and the bench/bullpen’s quality remains about the same.

New winning strategy:
Get Jason Kendall an appearance at every nightclub in the metro area. In the same week.

I know that it's frustrating...
But this has been planned for a while obviously. We can’t really ask him to reschedule events like this based on team performance. Maybe the Brewers will win a blowout on Friday night and make it alright to go party.
We could take this one step further even and ask if it’s alright for the Brewers to do community work when the team sucks. Signing balls, shaking hands, and kissing babies (or babes) doesn’t really help with hitting balls 400 feet or pitching well. If they struggle terribly before a block party that’s been scheduled for weeks, should they cancel it or just make sure Prince isn’t in the same one as Parra again? :-p
I think this all goes back to that Twitter incident with that one guy whose name escapes me right now. If a player knows he can go out and party the night before a game and be just fine, then I don’t see any reason why we should question it, especially with such a young and vibrant player as Braun. Who knows how much he’ll even really party? I’m sure he’s really there to plug his shirts. It is frustrating when the team plays worse than a herd of buffalo but we all like it to an extent when the team wins, especially if we’re among the lucky few who end up in the same club with the players. I’m sure that if the team was playing well right now, there would be a ton of people excited to go and not ripping on Braun for having a life outside of the sport that we all love.

Probably because it's not a Friday night
Friday night at a club – Can you think of a better crowd to display crazy shirts to? Girls are there to meet/swoon over/stalk Ryan Braun and a look-a-like would be fine for pictures. Guys want to be chill/hang with Braun and steal his threads because it helps get the ladies.
Seriously? Why not a Friday night?

i think that people would go there
no matter the day of the week if Braun is there. I’ve gone to concerts on Tuesday nights, just because the artist/group happened to be in town putting on a show that day. I think the same applies here.
If Braun is making a public appearance, the place will be packed regardless of the day of the week.

Everyne needs to relax!!!
What’s the big deal if Braun goes to a night club after the game. You have never gone to a bar for "happy hour" after work? They have a night game the next day. As long as he shows up for work the next day on time and is ready to go than it is no big deal. It is no different than anyone else that has a job. his job just happens to be more pulic than most.
