go back and read the game thread again. I’m the ‘somebody" (I think). I wasn’t busting her “balls,” I was merely asking why she would object to a photo of (female) cleavage but then joke around about getting busy with R. Braun. I was trying to have a discussion, while certain others (who know who they are) responded to her posts with more cleavage shots and demands that she “lighten up.”
Or you could continue to have discussions with yourself.

Because as far as I can tell kirbir left this thread tonight (and unlike me, she’s an integral part of BCB) because she was getting responses that were the equivalent of men whipping out their dicks at her. All she did was try to say something about a post that she didn’t like. That’s all. I think we should have a discussion with her instead of immediately posting more pix of women with beer cans between their boobs. And then what you posted above…

You can object to something on solid merits
and you can try to frame a personal objection as something more. 98% of the people who read game threads don’t care about rally cleavage, and certainly have no objection to pictures posted. If you can swear, why can’t PG-13 pictures be posted? Because they’re misogynistic? On a sports blog? Really?
Trust me, the last thing I was trying to do was “whip my dick out.” I just think it’s ridiculous that because one person thinks something that isn’t really that offensive is offensive that everyone else needs to cater to that squeaky wheel.
Especially considering that kirbir apparently doesn’t have any problem when it’s her own cleavage.

While I’m slightly frustrated that lawlackey did push the issue, the response posts from you and others being jerky about the situation really were what upset me. I don’t appreciate the complete lack of respect that was shown in the game thread. At least lawlackey tried to understand where I was coming from instead of responding with ‘witty’ sayings like “Are you shitting me?”

but this site has been a bit of a hostile environment the past couple days; with all the arguing over KL’s post/poll about Braun and now about stuff mentioned in game threads… can’t we all just get along?

I just get irritated when people post pictures—of any sort—without the little title so I can collapse them. (It’s different when I’m reading the OP with a picture.)
On the other hand, too many cheesecake pictures can contribute to a hostile environment. That in fact is why BCB is about the only sports blog outside of baseball card blogs (and Curt Schilling’s blog) where I felt welcome in commenting.
I have often been guilty of this but have been trying to rehabilitate myself

It seems like you not only lack a single bit of concern about what kirbir’s objection was at the beginning, but that you felt the need to mock her for objecting in the first place. Which is why she seems to have given up again. To be clear, I’m not saying she is “right.” In fact, I think she is struggling with being “free” with her own sexuality while at the same time she is realizing that most men still think of women as just those that we men happen to want to fuck, and as people, well, maybe if they are our sisters or moms. That’s a problem, no?

I’m not kirbir, not 21, and not a woman on a sports blog, where apparently nobody should ever object to boob pictures, because, hey, it’s a sports blog, right? (Again, not that kirbir can’t speak for herself.) You’re changing the subject from what you said to whom it was directed at. I’m not the original source of this whole discussion, kirbir is. Virginia is a ridiculously good team, and the more I investigate, the better they look. Given the number of underclassmen playing important roles, they could be even better next year.
I’m going to re-run the odds tomorrow morning with results through day 1, and I’m guessing VA’s chances of winning it all will be up over 20%.

I’ve posted many a cheesecake picture over here at BCB before (including last night). It was sort of a “thing” whenever the Reds played the Brewers. I’m not meaning to cause any offense with it, and always tried to keep it themed around “beer.” If you’d prefer, I can give that a break. I don’t comment with any regularity on many other sites, but I always liked BCB, and don’t want to upset you fine folks.

FWIW...
… it seemed to me that there was less of a problem with the actual pictures than there was with the reaction to the tiniest, well intended suggestion that a link would suffice. Personally, I don’t think you’ve got anything to apologize for. But the thought was nice anyway.
