Zambrano pulled hamstring, could miss Friday start in Milwaukee
So apparently the story goes that Marlins pitcher Ricky Nolasco put down a squeeze bunt that dropped right in front of the plate that Geovany Soto chose to throw to first instead of third earlier in the game and Zambrano took that as a challenge.
His next at-bat, in the fifth inning, he tried to bunt himself on for a single and he stretched his left leg to beat the throw. Lou Pinella came out to pull him and Zambrano told him that it was just a cramp. Shortly thereafter he finally did leave, realizing it was worse.
Zambrano's status is pending an MRI, but Pinella said that he didn't foresee him making his next start, which, fortuitously, would be in Milwaukee Friday night. According to this artcie, the Cubs will likely have to pull up a minor league arm to fill the spot in the rotation.

I am Heart Broken
Just one more bullet in the gun as I prepare for another day of Brewer’s Fandome in downtown Chicago… Funny but there are a lot fewer people wearing Cubs apparel now than there were a few weeks ago.
Hmmm
I never like seeing players go down. It sucks to see two teams play each other at less-than-full-strength. Whether Zambrano is pitching well or imploding, he’s fun to watch.
Normally – I would agree with you. But in this case I will disagree with you. This is war and you must kick your enemy while they are down.

Speaking of the dirty Cubs..
Marmol is going to still be the closer right? He’s on waiver wire on a fantasy team, figured he’d be worth a gamble on.
Only if you have some space for him on your bench in a deep league. His numbers aren’t pretty (1.73 WHIP, 5.73 ERA, 12K) but he should turn it around and will pick up some saves. He already has 2. And Gregg’s numbers aren’t any better. It wouldn’t shock me to see him in the closer role by the end of the month.
It really depends on how many teams in your league. If it is only 10-12 teams then I would hold off. There will be better options out there for you. If it is a deep 20 teamer (like BCB’s) then I would consider picking him up and having him ride the pine to see how soon he turns it around.
