Parra sent down, Chris Narveson up
Well... the Brewers haven't announced it, but the Sounds have.

Best move
You can give up on Parra on the long run, but you can’t let the team down by sending him out there.
Best of luck in AAA Manny, I hope you right the boat and rejoin the team for a playoff push. We will need you.

well said
"He had some firsts," said Brewers manager Ken Macha. "His first homer, his first Major League start, his first error and my first gray hair."

so, when they need 5th starter, who is it?
Narveson or McClung? There are only two choices.

Narveson's been pitching in relief for Nashville
So I doubt it would be him.

ah, thanks
Relief pitchers may be fungible but left-handed pitchers aren’t, oops

That said
Narveson was a starter last season, but he wasn’t very good in that role.

We have an off day next Thursday and the following Monday
So we don’t actually NEED a 5th starter for a couple weeks.

I beg to differ
We’ve been needing a 5th starter since about a two-three weeks into the season =(

I didn’t see the game but, Chris Smith went 3.1 innings and has been a starter off and on throughout his journeyman career. It would not surprise me if they use him in the spot. If McClung were to be the guy, you would think they would have had him out there to stretch out by throwing 3+.
If it weren’t the middle of the season, it might be nice to give CV one more shot, but I’m guessing Smith or McCLung.

Why Narveson?
That’s my only complaint with this.
I last May, still no more than Nick Neugebauer not.

Who would you have called up? (out of curiousity)

Mike Burns...
If they just wanted a relief pitcher….RJ Swindle if they wanted a lefty….both are on the 40 man already.

Burns
A player has to be in the minors for 10 days before he can be recalled again unless somebody goes on the DL, which wasn’t the case here.
Swindle’s been hit pretty hard in the majors, hasn’t he?

Swindle
There’s no excuse for not calling him up if they plan on using Narveson as a lefty guy. If they judge him on the two games he’s pitched in the majors I lose a lot of faith in Doug’s player evaluation methods. And why not DIllard as a reliever, and Green or Wright would have both been better.

Haha, I like explanations that make sense
“The Brewers could have recalled lefty R.J. Swindle for a third stint in the Majors this season, but both of Milwaukee’s next two opponents — Cleveland and Detroit — feature mostly right-handed hitters.”

So they call up the much crappier lefty?
Where’s Tim Dillard?

Dillard just pitched yesterday
Doesn’t make much sense to call up someone you can’t use for four days.

I think this spells the end of R.J. Swindle's Brewers career, eh?
It was a great selection of awesome.

I think you'll see Swindle again.
At the latest he’ll be called up when the rosters expand towards the end of the season. You can never have too many bullpen arms for a playoff push, and the Brewers probably want to see what they have in Narveson.

I always liked Parra but...
There would be an uprising if he took another start. I think he’s got what it takes but I don’t know if he’s fit mentally to start. I’d like to see Smith fill in as the 5th, or maybe Burns…
captainbok: What do you like the most about milwaukee
Jeff Suppan: Captain Bok, that is a great question. Does "Bok" mean Book of Knowledge? My favorite thing about Milwaukee are the Brewers.

Informed Parra while the game was still going on
Ouch.

A little different ...
than the Twins roster move yesterday. They sent down Anthony Swarzak after he threw 7 shutout innings against the Cubs.

for those who don't know....
They didn’t have a problem with Swarzak; it’s that Glen Perkins is coming off the DL. Swarzak will probably be up sooner or later. Someone’s going to get hurt again or start epically sucking (::points at Liriano::)
