A two-hitter!

Walks? What walks?

I would think it’s a challenge to give up more runs than hits in a quality start.

"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"

Salome

He’s starting to figure out AAA pitching… first, Escobar and now, Salome. I think he’ll have decent numbers by September, when they call him up.

Why wait 'til September

Salome’s mle-233/280/307/587
Cap’t Grit-227/320/273/593
Mythical Rivera-263/310/342/652

The one depressing part of Salome’s state line is he appears to be another Bill E Hall, hitting .333 against LH vs .228 against RH.

And is just as skewed as his BA this year, 805/650. I believe the concern about Salome was his funky batting stance/loopy swing that would be exploited as he played tougher competition. Is the split emerging because for the first time he is facing pitchers who are capable of pitching to the holes in his swing, and there are more holes against righties?

Well, yeah, my argument wasn't that OPS is a better measure than batting average (though that's true as well)

but that it’s pretty silly to declare him “appears to be another Bill E Hall” based on less than 100 at-bats per side in the first place. His BABIP differential is almost three times his career average right now, and even accounting for the fact that BABIP is more of a skill for hitters than for pitchers, I’d wager you can mostly trace his currently large platoon split to good luck against lefties and bad luck against righties. His plate discipline and isolated power in AAA appear to be just fine against RHP (in the sense that they’re below his career norms to comparable degrees as they are against LHP).

Manatees stole a whopping 7 bases in last night's game.

All done by the top 5 in the order (Brewer and Gindl twice each, the others once).

Steffan Wilson now has seven homers against four doubles

And how about that Chris Dennis?

It was a great selection of awesome.
