couple of things

(a) GARFIELD!

(b) any comments on the tweaked format? Now that the rookie leagues are underway, there will soon be six games (or more, with doubleheaders) on a regular basis. I realize not everyone wants to scan through ~100 player lines just to see who won lost night.

© as you might note, I finally got SB, CS, and GDP in the “notes” section. I figure if Josh Prince is going to run wild, we might as well keep track.

Also, cheese.

(a) Garfield not a “top performer”? Or, if you’re a “top prospect,” can you not also be a “top performer”?

(b)

(a) you are correct. I didn’t want to waste the above-the-fold real estate by listing guys twice. I have a ranked list of batting and pitching prospects; if you’re one of the top five of either to have played the previous night, you’re in the “prospects” section. If not, you’re eligible for the “performers” section.

Also, cheese.

Thanks for the SB

I was wondering about that as part of my newfound Heether obsession.

Speaking of which…0-3 with 2 strikeouts? C’mon, get your head in the game! At least Parra pitched well.

Agreed

SB are great!

I like the new format.

Thanks, Jeff!

I like the game scores at the top also

"He had some firsts," said Brewers manager Ken Macha. "His first homer, his first Major League start, his first error and my first gray hair."

Mark Rodgers pitches 3 innings!

A new season high, I believe. He might be able to squeeze 4 innings into one outing if he can get his walk rate under 6 per 9 innings and his WHIP under 1.30.

We need to rerank the prospects

Sayonara, Brad Nelson; hello, Eric Arnett.

Community again, or should we convene a council of a few elders?

It was a great selection of awesome.

I think you should do it

(as long as you put Walla in the top ten)

The community rankings are good for the offseason, both because they take up a lot of time/front page space, and because it’s so much tougher to rank draftees before they’ve done anything in pro ball.

Also, cheese.

I think we should ask an associate scout

But then we’d probably end up with a bunch of guys tied for 1043rd place.

That's ridiculous

Everyone outside the Brewers system would be tied for 1043rd. All the Brewers farmhands would be tied for 2733rd.

Also, cheese.

new stuff

I think I’m going to build this into my daily minor league splits update:

That would be very handy

I last May, still no more than Nick Neugebauer not.

Ha, I thought about that

I just discovered that MILB creates one pre-game XML file, which is where I got all this stuff. They include the W, L, and ERA, so I figured I’d use them. Certainly easier than querying my database for FIPs or something.

And btw, delete the “I think” from my comment upthread. Unless I’ve screwed something up (which is extremely likely given my track record with new features) it’s good to go starting with tomorrow’s site update.

Also, cheese.

It will be tomorrow

the one I created, linked above, is funky because I kept testing it after a bunch of games started.

Also, cheese.
