Walla walloped his first career homer

I’m trying to interview him soon. The kids are busy down in Arizona.

It was a great selection of awesome.

I'm expecting a Walla interview

your reputation depends on it.

Also, cheese.

Andres Martinez was the Brewers' highest-paid international signee last year ($225K)

He hit his first two professional homers yesterday for the DSL Orioles/Brewers. He’s only 17.

It was a great selection of awesome.

For reference

That’s about what the Brewers’ 4th-round pick last year, Josh Romanski, got ($247,000).

It was a great selection of awesome.

Here's a scouting report on Martinez from BA
Martinez, who turned 17 on Jan. 26, is an athletic shortstop and a 65 runner on a 20-80 scouting scale, showing 4.15-second speed from home to first. A righthanded hitter, Martinez’s defense is further along than his hitting. He projects to stay at shortstop, showing good hands, an above-average arm with a quick release and more steadiness than flash at the position.

Ah, those magical words, “projects to stay at shortstop” (link).

It was a great selection of awesome.

Salome was "in the team photo" in this week's Prospect Hot Sheet from BA
Triple-A Nashville C Angel Salome (Brewers) isn’t a guy you expect to hit many triples, but that’s just what the stocky 23-year-old catcher did Wednesday in Albuquerque. The triple was his first of the year and fifth of his career in 1,589 professional at-bats, but it was just part of a strong week for Salome. His hitting has gotten better each month of the season and this week he hit .423/.423/.769 (11-for-26) with a home run and four doubles to go with that triple.

It was a great selection of awesome.

Aesthetic request - could we get Helena listed above the BRRROKsters?

Given that the complex leagues are generally considered a lower level than the Pioneer and Appy Leagues, and all…

By the way

Whither Carlos George?

It was a great selection of awesome.

I wonder if he's around anymore

Haven’t seen him listed this year

I last May, still no more than Nick Neugebauer not.

He's listed on the AZL roster

It was a great selection of awesome.

by battlekow on Jun 27, 2009 2:29 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

yes we could.

I meant to do that all along; it ended up this way because the AZL started their season first, and I was just adding to the bottom of the list.

Also, cheese.
