I’m assuming the 50-100-lifetime penalty structure was set up for all illegal substances with no differentiation made between cocaine, heroine (or opiates like the commonly prescribed oxy-family popular among those who like to pull guns in pharmacies), meth, THC (weed), etc. That may not be fair given the lesser side effects of THC and it’s largely non-existent propensity to create an actual chemical addiction. On the other hand, assuming that Jeffress is not chemically addicted to THC (since most weed users are not), then he’s just an idiot unable to break a habit even though he knows it will cost him millions. That makes him a moron in my book, and barring some evidence he falls into the rare category of people who develop a chemical addiction to THC, he’s impossible to pity.

If you get this kind of suspension for pot, I think players should also get the same suspensions for drunk driving. Neither one gives a performance benefit, but drunk driving is probably way more dangerous than smoking pot. (This from a decidedly straight-edge person.)
