I know he is 28 but what is his stuff? admitting complete ignorance (again) regarding a minor league pitcher does anyone think he could see some time up here in the future, thats a great line

From What I Understand...
…the organization sees him as a “1-inning guy”.
I would doubt that he’d see time in Milwaukee until September, unless DeFelice, Stetter, and Carlos all go down….given the fact that Swindle and possibly Dillard would get called up before Chris Smith. Or unless the rotation starts seeing some injuries.
Here’s some scouting info on him from last year: Red Sox Scouting Report
Just called up, so impeccable timing on this post
DiFelice to bereavement list, Riske or Weeks to 60-day DL to make room.
Obscure baseball records and more at my blog, Recondite Baseball.
Last year
I saw Smith pitch quite a few times in Pawtucket and Boston. He was lights out in Pawtucket before being called up, but seemed like they tried to make some changes when he went up to Boston that didn’t work out too well. Struggled a bit when he came back to the Pawsox. I think he can still be an effective late inning guy.
Chris was well liked by the organization and the fans. Wish him the best of luck with the Brewers.
