Hoffman named NL pitcher of the month
Hoffman was 11 for 11 in save opportunities (12 scoreless appearances overall) in May. Not bad for a 41 year old relief pitcher. Well deserved.

I heard Hoffman on XM radio a couple of days ago
They asked him about his early success and he said something like
“A lot of credit goes to Jason Kendall, he’s such a gritty guy* that he sometimes insists on a pitch that I don’t really want to throw, but I throw it and it works out for us”
He also said when asked about betting on the sausage race, that he wants to put Todd Coffey in the Chorrizo, so he could bet on him.
* He really used the word bulldog not gritty
