There weren't any shadows to blame at Miller Park today, but the Brewer bats took a nice, long afternoon nap anyway, as the Mets defeated the Crew 1-0 for the second time this season.

Yovani Gallardo was the tough luck loser, allowing just one earned run on five hits and two walks in seven innings of work, striking out a career high 12. He also threw 114 pitches today, meaning he's thrown 110 or more in four of his last six starts and five of seven.

The Brewers threatened in the eighth, with runners on first and second and two outs, but Sean Green retired J.J. Hardy on a grounder to third to end the threat. Green relieved Mike Pelfrey, who allowed no runs on six hits and two walks in 7.2 innings.

Not a good sign going into Chicago

Wanted a sweep, and the wind at the Brew Crews back, now, the Crew dont have Gallardo pitching in a 4 game series, and the offense didn’t score a single run today

The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws.

Yovani should be LVP

He didn’t even HR today

Pick it up Brew Crew

Lets go and sweep Chicago!!!

captainbok: What do you like the most about milwaukee

Jeff Suppan: Captain Bok, that is a great question. Does "Bok" mean Book of Knowledge? My favorite thing about Milwaukee are the Brewers.

No more Vampire Ball, please.

Let’s score some runs during the day, boys.

That would explain a lot of things

So that’s why Mike Rivera looks like he hasn’t seen the sun in years, to give one example.

That inning where the Hart could not get down the bunt and Prince ran himself into an out

shows that this is still a team that is challenged when it has to play fundamentally sound baseball

Oh and my hatred for Jody Gerut continues to grow every time he touches the field

I said today was going to be a waste of Gallardo

Apparently I was right but for the wrong reason

Look on the bright side two series in a row they have taken 2 of 3 they keep doing that and good things will happen

As for the Cubs this weekend I would be content with a split than the Cubs would gain no ground.

Anything over a split is gravy to me
