MLB trade rumors reports that an NL Central team is interested in trading for Freddy Sanchez. They speculate that it is the Cubs, but is there any chance the Brewers would be interested? Their infield depth is thin, and they could trade Sanchez at the end of the season if it looks like Weeks will come back strong next year. He would definitely provide some needed spark at the top of the order (or in the 2 spot).

He's owed some money in 2010

I would trade for him but only if the cost is similar to what we paid for Durham last year.

He's 270 PA away from making his $8M+ 2010 option guaranteed

If that changes opinions.

Yeah I didn't know it was that much

No thanks for a $8 mil backup in 2010

Uh...

… who’s looking at the Cubs and thinking what they really need is another starter?

Starter?

Are you thinking of Jonathan Sanchez?

Freddy would be an upgrade…at least offensively, over the 2nd basemen the Cubs are throwing out there right now. I wouldn’t want the Brewers trading for him though…not with the kind of price tag he’ll carry after his option vests.
