Melvin Talking to Jays About Halladay
Tom H.'s report. I'm a little surprised this isn't up here already, but I don't see it linked anywhere.
Probably won't happen, and quite frankly, I'm not sure it should if it costs Gamel or Escobar (or both) as I think this team is more than a single pitcher away. But then, I don't really know what I'm talking about.

But every pitcher loves working with Kendall
Halladay will come to Milwaukee and turn into an even better version of himself that can pitch on three days rest indefinitely all because of his relationship with the best pitcher-handling backstop in the majors.
Or, yeah, mostly what you said.

No thanks
not if its going to cost Gamel and/or Escobar. Like you said, they’re more than a pitcher away.
"my goodness"
Yep
It would probably take Gamel AND Escobar as well as a couple of other highly ranked prospects.
The only bright spot could be that if he did not like it here (shoot, even if he did like it), he could be traded again for a nice load of prospects.
I am starting to wonder if this month does not go very well, if they would be willing to trade Hoffman away to a team like the Dodgers or Tigers or Rangers. He would probably be able to land a nice prospect.
Personally
I wouldn’t trade Hoffman because I think he is the closer that we need right now.

Yeah
You dont trade him now, but if the team slides far from a playoff spot, Hoffman has value to a contender. He’s not a part of the team’s long term plans and they might be willing to move him.
Casual Fan Rant Warning!
So help me God if they deal Gamel before Macha gives the kid a chance to play regularly my head’s going to explode.
