Gamel sent back down to Nashville today - impact on Heether?
Since Mat Gamel was sent back down to Nashville today my question is this: how will this impact what happens with Adam Heether, who has been playing extremely well for Nashville at 3B since taking over for Gamel?
With Heether becoming a free agent after this year does this also signal the Brewers might trade Heether soon?
Wow. This is an interesting situation for the Sounds.
What do you think?

Shame on me
I’ve been harping about Heether for the past several weeks, and I didn’t even think what Gamel’s return to Nashville would mean.
To me, Heether’s game is kind of Cirillo-y. Maybe if there is another move being made, a trading team might be interested in Heether being part of the package.

I've Been Wondering...
The same thing since Gamel was optioned on Sunday.
Especially since Heether is blocked at his 2 primary positions by both Gamel (at 3rd) and Escobar (at SS). Could mean he gets traded….could mean he gets moved to LF…could mean Gamel gets moved to RF and Heether stays at 3rd…could mean Escobar gets traded and Heether goes back to SS….could mean Irribarren gets moved in a trade and Heether becomes the heir apparent super sub to Craig Counsell that we all maybe hoped Vinny R. would be. There’s a lot of things that could happen. Or maybe nothing will happen and he’ll reach free agency.

Lots of "what ifs"
There are a lot of scenarios that we should see play out in the next couple of weeks in Nashville. Another name now in the mix is Freddy Parejo. He’s been playing outfield. He’s only been up long enough to play in 10 games but he is batting .306 right now.
I want to see Heether play in the Majors even it means its not for Milwaukee. He’s got a great attitude and has really shown some promise this season. He has a nice swing. Surprising power too.
Katin is having a career season right now so I see him staying in RF through the end.
I do think the most likely next-trades for the Sounds are first Heether, then Iribarren.
Both are having very solid seasons at Nashville this year.
I’ll be heading to Memphis Wed night to watch Gamel play and load up a ton of photos on my blog.

I thought I read somewhere (Brewerfan?) that the Brewers could put Heether on the 40 man at the end of the year and control him for up to 3 more years.

I was wondering that
Who do you take off? Corporan?

We don't have to take any one off now...
It would during the off season. There will be a lot of players potentially coming off the 40 man roster.
Burns
Cameron
Catalanotto
Gerut
Hardy
Hoffman
Kendall

Right, but I would assume most of those players will be replaced by somebody
Hardy is not coming off unless he is traded.

Yeah...
My guess is he is traded though… Escobar is ready.

Gerut..
Is in Arbitration….though I don’t see the team keeping him around.
Catalanotto had a contract through 2010 with the Rangers with a club option for 2010 before he was released. I’m not sure if he is still under that same contract with the Brewers or not.

Counsell is a free agent
They might want him back, but what if he doesn’t want to play next year?
