Jays Set Deadline For Halladay Trade
The "deadline" they've "set" is the 28th. Ricciardi also says deal is unlikely. I wonder if they're trying to scare someone into overwhelming them with a package of prospects.

Hmm...I'm going to the game the following day in Seattle where he's scheduled to pitch.
Sounds like bull to me too, though.
In related news...
I am announcing an July 28, 2009 deadline for Megan Fox to wise up, drop the restraining order and sleep with me.
Won’t happen — we have reservations that night

maybe all 3 of you?
plus my coworker who can’t shut about her;)

She is gorgeous.
But the talk of her relenting are becoming to much of a distraction. At the stroke of midnight on the 28th I will no longer even consider sleeping with her anymore….
This makes no sense
Why insist on a made-up deadline three days before the real deadline?
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
because this deadline can be pushed back in the appropriate circumstances
“really, our sale will only last one more day”

I would think that every other team
sees through the bullshit as well. They’re not going to turn down a package on the 30th that they would have accepted on the 28th.
No, but this way the package is offered on the 28th
So they have a couple more days to make any additional deals.
