is he the Craig Counsell of our AAA team?
…giving people a day off in rotation?
or is something going on with Escobar that we should be concerned about?
Heether's playing today too
bumped to left so Gamel can play.
so we have 3 3rd basemen out there today. I’m guessing if there’s a double-switch it will involve at least one of them.
I have an opportunity to go to a Zephyr's game next weekend
weren’t they an old affiliate of ours?
Either that or I’ll be going to an OK redhawks game during the week
Someone familiar with AAA ball make a recommendation of players that I have to see between those two teams and the Sacramento River Cats?
They were the AAA affiliate from 1987-1996 in Denver & New Orleans

I'm all for getting him time all over in AAA
If he can play an above average shortstop or second he’d be a lot more valuable in a trade
are we talking post season?
because aren’t the trades in the next month pretty complicated?

It Would Have To Be A Waiver Trade
Not sure if anyone would be willing to trade for him though. Hall must have had to pass through waivers in order to be optioned to AAA this week.

i don't think so
but i know the rules a lot less than some
I think the deal was that he still had options remaining, but because he had more than 5 years service time they needed his permission to exercise said option.

I'm not sure how it works
I know Dave Bush had to go through some sort of weird option waivers last year so I assume Hall had to do the same before they could option him (at which point he could’ve gone for free agency).
Either way, I doubt anyone claims Hall on waivers so they should be free to deal him to whoever wants him.

No one is claiming Hall on waivers
The risk is too high that the Brewers will just tell the team to take him and the claiming team woule be on the hook for the $8 mil owed to him. Same reason Suppan will clear waivers.

I was under the impression
that if we waived a guy, we’d be on the hook for his salary. If somebody else picked him up, they could pay him the minimum, and we would be on the hook for the remainder of his salary, minus that minimum. Hence, why he hasn’t been sent down yet.
I thought this situation was different because he accepted the demotion.

If someone claims Hall on waivers, that team pays his whole salary
If Hall is released and then someone signs him, the Brewers pay his whole salary minus the pro-rated minimum (or whatever the other team wants to pay him).

At short again tonight
Escobar and Gamel are both sitting, though Angel Salome is starting for the first time in nearly a week.
