This was a pretty depressing game all around. Yovani Gallardo had his first rough outing in a while and the offense could never break through against Cardinal pitcher Adam Wainwright. A few "questionable" calls by home plate umpire Bill Hohn (who ejected both Dale Sveum and Willie Randolph) and his moustache didn't help matters either.
Gallardo needed 37 pitched to get through the first inning which included a 3-run home run to Ryan Ludwick. He would give up another solo shot to Colby Rasmus in the fifth. Gallardo walked four, struck out six and needed 102 pitches to get through five innings.
Wainwright fooled the Crew all night. The closest the Brewers got to scoring was in the second inning when they loaded the bases with 1 out. But they were unable to score when Mike Cameron ran into a ball off Jason Kendall's bat and Yovani Gallardo struck out on a phantom swinging strike three. The events of that inning got both Dale Sveum and Willie Randolph tossed. Wainwrght struck out nine Brewers and was two outs away from throwing his first career complete game shut out. Ryan Franklin threw two pitches and got Jason Kendall to groud into a double play to end the game.

So
Are we going to get shut out at least one game every series for the rest of the year? This is getting old quick.
I just noticed
That I’ve been unemployed since the first game versus the Twins (company I worked at for four years filed bankruptcy and closed over half of it’s locations), but tomorrow I’m back to being employed (but won’t be starting till August), hopefully the ’Crew gets back on track as well!
Maybe Parra will surprise us all?

correct me if I am wrong
But I believe the grand total of runs scored in Yo’s last two starts is a whopping Zero
As we said even Yo cannot win when he is on when you score him no runs.

Missed the game
Brewers reached the midpoint of the season on pace for 86 wins and kicked of the second half with an ugly loss. Even trading for a good pitcher is going to make it tough to make up 4 wins to get to 90 wins on the season. Obviously, the Brewers shouldn’t be sellers in the trade market, but they had better make any trades fair ones.
I think I might have to pass on making the effort to watch the games live for a while and just watch the compressed games the following day on MLB.tv. I get upset and cranky when they’re playing poorly and they’ve been doing that for a while now.
Who knew losing Rickie Weeks would be the first step in the Brewers tanking for the next 7-8 weeks? Brewers are 20-26 for a stellar 43.4% win percentage since his last appearance.
