Rumorville General: Javier Vazquez to Miss Sunday Start
From the Atlanta Journal Constitution, via Baseball Musings, Atlanta Braves pitcher Javier Vazquez, subject of recent trade rumors promptly quashed by a certain mustachioed GM, will miss his Sunday start against the Colorado Rockies. He has a strained lower-abdominal muscle that has been nagging him for several starts. It suddenly felt worse after he threw seven innings against the Cubs on Wednesday. The Braves are attempting to avoid placing him on the DL by skipping this start and pushing him to the back of their rotation after the All-Star Break, but this certainly deals a blow to the trade value he had. Presumably he will not be "proven" healthy enough to be traded until shortly before the deadline at the earliest.

Not a big issue
From what I understand, they just wanted to skip a start since he could get a lot of rest with the All-Star break. Otherwise he would have pitched.
