Help with Gallardo and Parra Contracts

Can someone please explain to me the contract situation with Gallardo and Parra both for this season and going forward? I am talking to my roommate who is a Cubs fan and he insists we will have to give contracts to both this offseason and I dont remember what is going on with them other than the fact that they are not a big problem this offseason. Thanks alot for the help and go Crew

We have control
Both players had 1 year and a little change of MLB Service Time going into the 09 year. We’ll give them their raise but they do not qualify for Arbitration till the end of next year, so we’ll have control for around 4 more years for each player.
