Bill Hall traded to Mariners
According to Ben Reiter of Sports Illustrated's Twitter:
Breaking: Bill Hall traded from Brewers to Mariners. Seattle, get ready for the Series!
Noah Coslov is reporting the Brewers will receive reliever Ruben Flores in return. Flores is 25 and posted an ERA over 10 in A ball this season.

They have any big contracts they wanted to rid themselves of?

Has he paid any attention to Hall lately?

SI has it officially now
Seems like we are just trying to get something for nothing.

I wish we could have dumped more of that money, but I guess it wasn't going to happen

Flores is a 25-year-old right-handed reliever who has spent most of the season at high-A ball, going 2-2 with a 2.30 ERA.
Slightly better than nothing.?

SI Article is wrong, he's spent most of his year at LOW-A, after putting up a 13+ ERA in High A in 8 games.

Only 10 innings in High A though

Well, he's a reliever, so 10 innings in 8 games is about right?

Yeah I'm just saying 10 innings isn't a lot.
But his line for high-A is pretty bad. He’s certainly a throw-in

If we cut him would we have owed him the salary for next year as well?

My understanding, yeah
…when was he signed until, without the option? We’d owe him that money too, right?

Sooo....
now that Hall is gone, do you think the Brewers might still go after Harang/Arroyo? I’m trying to think of something reasonable to give up for either or both.

Boy I hope not.
We already have Jeff Suppan, Braden Looper, and Replacement Pitcher to watch 3/5 times, and Manny Parra’s brain leaks onto the mound at least once every 4 starts. I don’t want more of the same.

Wow. A 10+ ERA in A ball
That’s harsh. I guess saving 2 million is worth it, but man. I think a bag of balls might actually be better.

Bill Hall should be worth a bag of pink bats
It is what it is.

Actually
He pitched poorly in high A, at High Desert, where pitchers are routinely destroyed. At Clinton, he pitched pretty well.
But, that doesn’t change the fact that he’s 25.
"The reports are that he is getting better. The definition of better is nebulous."

Sure, but remember Joshua Butler?
He had been very pedestrian when the Brewers traded Gabe Gross for him last year at age 23 (I know 2 years is a big deal in prospect terms). That doesn’t change the fact that he’s pitched very well this season.

Reaction at USS Mariner
This is my favorite comment:
High-upside pickup for not much money and throw-in arm. Definitely like the move. Plus someone named Marty McSuperFly sponsors his Baseball-Reference page.

Can the brewers
somehow get rid of Soup in Hall fashion… Eat most of the salary… get a throw in arm back… would they at least be off the hook for is 2 million option then?

Noooo
When I saw “Bill Hall to Mariners” my first thought was that the Grand Branyan had returned. Alas, it is not to be.

I wonder
Do you think Moustache cared about the returning prospect at all, or did Hall just go to the team willing to absorb the most salary?
Also, how can we possibly be 10 games out of first? We’re we leading the division for a month or two?
