You beat me to it... I was just about to post Soup's stat line.
Kind of warms the heart to know that Suppan’s ineffectiveness wasn’t related to his “injury”. Anyone know if the Brewers could simply have Suppan do all rehab starts between now and the end of the season? He could keep Hardy company.

my question is, if suppan continues to be ineffective, is there any recourse for the club other than sacking up and paying the man?
i mean, in theory is there any possibility of some kind of “breach of contract” that the FO could file, or arbitration to not have to pay him again?
again i sincerely doubt this, but i wasn’t sure if there was any kind of precedent on contract arbitration.

Not really...
MLB contracts are guaranteed. Even if he were to have some career ending injury, they’d still be on the hook (ala Teddy Higuera).
Basically, they are stuck with his contract unless they can somehow find a team willing to take him.
Arbitration really only works in favor of the player… in order to keep teams from underpaying players who are not yet eligible for free agency.

They could keep him active and never play him in hopes he retires and gives up the contract
That didn’t work when they tried to weasel out of Cecil Cooper’s deal though.

If they're going to do that...
they’d be better off just releasing him. That way, if some team is actually gullible enough to pick him up, they’d at least save $400K. An added bonus would be if he went to a division rival and continued to suck it up.

Still perfect this year! 12-0 with the Brewers, 3-0 with the T-Rat's after last night.

You should seriously consider getting season tickets with that kind of record. :)

I was 0 fer last year in brewer games, so, I can't get season tickets on the chance that it's an off year for me.

Good point...
Just go to the rest of the games this season and we’ll be set for the playoffs!
