SBNation Coverage
The Brewers got another dose of Bad Manny tonight, but the bats carried them through it.
In a series of events that looked very similar to yesterday's game, the Brewers jumped ahead early on Prince Fielder's three run home run, and turned the order in the first inning en route to a 5-0 lead. The difference tonight: They kept scoring, adding additional runs in the second, third and fourth.
Meanwhile, Manny Parra kept it close, allowing six runs, all earned, on ten hits and four walks in six innings. David Weathers pitched 1.2 scoreless innings in relief, Todd Coffey retired the only batter he faced and Trevor Hoffman struck out the side in the ninth for his 28th save. The Brewers have won nine of Parra's 23 starts this season, and he's collected the win in each of them.
At the plate, six Brewers were on base multiple times, including four Brewers who picked up multiple hits. Felipe Lopez went 0-for-4 and was the only Brewer starter without a hit.

Does anybody have a picture
of Prince fielder’s incredibly long jersey after he won the home run derby

I don't know if this is the one you mean

Wasn't that hit a cheap one that should have been called an error?
or am I thinking of something else?

They scored eight runs and only brought 36 batters to the plate
The record since 1954 for fewest team plate appearances a nine-inning game (well, batting eight times) while scoring 8 or more runs is 32, done June 4, 1982 by the Astros and May 29, 1987 by the White Sox. That is, of course, the minimum you can have scoring 8 runs in 8 innings at bat. The Astros game is cool because they scored in two innings and had six 1-2-3 innings.

You forget just what a train wreck Davey Nelson is. Seems like a great guy and all, but man: he’s brutal on air.

So what if Fielder passes Pujols in everything?
A few days ago, I would’ve said Fielder would finish well behind Pujols in all but RBIs. Now he’s suddenly back in the picture for homerun champ, too. It wouldn’t be crazy to think he could catch Pujols on BA, too.
I doubt Fielder could garner enough votes for MVP while on a team under .500, but will he hurt Pujols’ chances? I mean, it would be hard to vote for Pujols in the case that Fielder edges him out in BA, HR and RBI, wouldn’t it? So then does it go to a Dark Horse candidate? Who else in the NL would remotely qualify other than Pujols at this point?
As much as I'd love to see Prince win MVP
it should go to Pujols, even if Prince edges him in BA, HR, and RBI
Now if he edged him in BA, OBP, and SLG, that’d be a different story…but that’s even less likely.
