According to the THwitter:

Brewers LHP Manny Parra has been scratched from his start Sunday vs. Arizona due to neck stiffness. LHP Chris Narveson will take his place.

Why not call up a Jones or Butler-type guy?

We have no reason to start Narveson.

If they didn't want to do any 40-man roster hijinks

I’m surprised they didn’t call up Burns at the very least. Maybe they were sick of him or didn’t feel like having another arm out there to pay to sit around not throwing for a month (after the start tomorrow I mean).

You know me Al.

That makes me wonder:

a) how “late” of a scratch Manny was
b) If all the guys that aren’t up and were told that we’re not calling anyone else up are fishing somewhere…

I think I heard

Narveson was the backup plan the whole time. Therefore he could spend the last few days preparing for the start just in case.

It is what it is.

Yup

The day after the game Manny had to leave, Brewers.com actually had a story on his condition and named Chris the probable starter if Manny wasn’t well by now.

You can say I'm a dreamer - but I'm not the only one.
