Excuse me while I steal your afternoon from you
with a Brewers trivia question.
What do the Brewers have in common with the Astros, Mariners, Rangers, and Royals? (And only these four teams.)
I'll be back later to mop up what's left of your blown mind and to post the answer. :)

I know!
I thought it would pique more interest. Ahh, what do I know.
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
That's the beauty of it
Short of “a list of 5 teams picked at random,” it’s hard to come up with what these 5 only had in common. If I had something of value, I’d offer it as a prize.
Seeing that we’re only talking minimal interest, I guess I can give a clue. It has nothing to do with current/former players or performance.

Too bad he was the Reds' GM, not the Royals'
Otherwise they all would have employed Dan O’Brien at some point.

thats the direction I was looking
but I couldn’t find a common GM or manager. I didn’t go into coaches, but it could be something like that
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."
Not personnel-related
though a good guess.

They've all been owned by old white guys
Er…I guess the other 26 teams have been, too.

named after types of people?
rather than animals?
in which case, you missed the pirates (and possibly others).
no nats or pirates
but one could argue that they have no fans

I thought i was on to something
when i looked at minor league affiliates. The Brewers, Royals and Mariners all had Appleton as an affiliate and the Rangers had Wisconsin Rapids, but alas I could find no evidence of an Astro/Wisconsin team.
It is what it is.
Interesting idea!
But right, that’s not it.
I’ll post the answer tomorrow.

The Twins had a minor league team in Wisconsin Rapids when I was a kid.

The answer
lies in the team name. These five team names are the only in baseball based on each team’s local industry. To see the really cool Venn diagram, click here.

From wikipedia
The “Royals” name originates from the American Royal, a livestock show, horse show, and rodeo held annually in Kansas City since 1899

If that counts, then the Blue Jays should be on the list too; the only reason that seemingly random animal was chosen was because Labatt were the owners and wanted the team’s name to have “blue” in it as a tie-in to Labatt Blue. (Supposedly)
Ryan Braun: He loves it.
Yeah.
And don’t forget about Pittsburgh’s long history of Piracy.

The weird part about it
Is that they’re all expansion teams…if you had asked me about teams named after their city’s industry, I would’ve guessed mainly older ones.
