Cardinals 10, Brewers 3
W: Chris Carpenter (15-3)
L: Dave Bush (3-6)
HR: None
MVP: Casey McGehee (+.142)
LVP: Dave Bush (-.426)
This one was over early and dragged on for three-plus agonizing hours. Let's just leave it at that and be glad it's over.

I blame the Foo Man Chew for the lose… what was he thinking going with a different style mustache….

And the season dies with a wimper
what last final hopes I had for the season died these last two days.
Why are they playing Hardy?
Everything is just swell :)
Hard to develop
Sitting on a bench. Hardy won’t be able to fill any said holes and three weeks of play isn’t going to magically make his value expand.
Should still be down In Nashville to both save face due to service loss (Melvins) and to allow both players to try to right their own ship. Hardy had 5 months, no GM is going to be fooled if he magically (and nothing suggest that) rebounds.

A monster month from Hardy couldn't hurt other GMs' opinions of him
There would at least be a hint he’s still the same player as he was the past couple years. I’d rather see Escobar play, but if Hardy’s going to be in the lineup, might as well hope he kicks it in gear.

McGehee
should be left in the remainder of the year to make a push for ROTY.

He'll probably get
More votes than he should because of the nice batting average and HR, but he ranks about 9th in WAR among rookies right now:
McCutcheon 3.1
Rasmus 2.5
Seth Smith (not sure if he is still a rookie) 2.5
Randy Wells 2.5
Garret Jones (again not sure about him) 2.0
Jordan Zimmerman 1.9
JA Happ 1.6
Everth Cabrera (SD) 1.6
McGehee 1.5
Chris Coghlan 1.4
Tommy Hanson 1.4
Do the writers actually look at WAR when voting?
I wouldn’t think they would that in-depth into the stats.
