I was in the middle of writing something, then I didn’t like it and my wife needed a hand, so I just left the title.
I thought perhaps people would be happy that I had also seen it.

Should have done this a little earlier if they wanted to get into the playoffs.

No? You mean they can’t even get firing the manager right in Houston? Color me shocked.
On the bright side, they get to pay for Mike Hampton to rehab next year.

Never wish your favorite player of all time becomes a manager. I have gotten to see how decidedly unclever Coop really is.
So, why didn't they wait until the end of the season?
It’s not like they were in a playoff chase and Cooper was making the players nervous (the explanation for the Yost canning last year). Did they just want to give Dave Clark some extra money for 2 weeks work?

It just doesn’t make sense. The only somewhat reasonable reason I can think of is that Coop was told to do something (say play rookies more?) and refused.
I am really not the hunting sort --
However if I ever got to embark on a fantasy safari, it would have to be hunting Ewoks on Endor on one of those space motorcycle things…..

Is it just because you don’t like Ewoks? Because they wouldn’t pose much of a challenge, hunting-wise. I mean, they can barely run.
they have weaponry though...
They would certainly kill me given the opportunity — It’s really just a function of self-preservation… and Ewok jerky.
Plus I think Ewok pelts would make could pillow covers.

Cooper’s a time traveler, don’t ya know.
And he sucked at managing because he knew if the ’Stros went to the playoffs in the last three years, a series of remarkable events would occur by which the world would have been plunged into WWIII.
He’s such a selfless guy.
Also, he put $50k down on the Rays to make the Series last year, so he’s pretty much set for life.
