Both McGehee and Gamel are on the bench tonight
Dude, WTF? I'm not on the fire Macha bandwagon, but this sort of stuff really makes me question. An argument can be made for starting McGehee over Counsell, but if you're giving McGehee the night off, you really need to be playing Gamel. It's the only thing that makes sense.

And of course I meant to say
starting McGehee over Gamel. Anyway, you see my point.
Brewers Baseball and other assorted nonsense (mostly the assorted nonsense) at my blog, What's a Tararrel?
I agree
If you want to have Counsell play put him at 2b. You still wopuld have the extra left handed bat if you start Gamel
good one
I’m not even sure why that was funny but it made me laugh. If you could somehow work a Dave Clark 5 referrence into it it wouldv’e been perfect

Brian Anderson and Bill Schroeder were talking about this on the tele this evening
It was funny, really. They claim Macha feels that Mat Gamel did not work out some ‘kinks’ in his swing when he went down earlier in the year, and as such is not starting, as the big leagues are not the place to work out such ‘kinks’.
I hate it when managers mold out a load of crap just to throw it out there when asked. Its not even a good attempt to excuse the non-move. I mean, did Macha really think that the team sent Gamel down to ‘work on his swing’? Isn’t it more logical to assume the was sent down to play regularly? Or is that what Macha is trying to say, but can’t seem to find the right words? Or did the FO tell him that’s why they were doing it?
Whatever.
