Brewers Minor League Leaders thru the 00's - Hits

 

2000 - 2009 - Hit Leaders

Here's a list of the top 5 hit seasons for Brewer minor leaguers over the last 10 years:

*179 - Alcides Escobar, 2008 (Huntsville)
**172 - Mat Gamel, 2008 (Huntsville 167/Nashville 5)
163 - Travis Hinton, 2004 (High Desert)
162 - Lorenzo Cain, 2006 (West Virginia)
161 - Vinny Rottino, 2004 (Beloit)

* Escobar also had 2 hits for Milwaukee that season
** Gamel also had 1 hit for Milwaukee that season

One other note, Travis Hinton was sent to the White Sox as a player to be named later for Carlos Lee after the 2004 season.  He only played one season for the White Sox before leaving professional baseball.

  • After 2006, #9 Prospect, Best Defensive Infielder (Best infield arm was Ryan Braun)
  • After 2005, #6 Prospect, Best Defensive Infielder (Best infield arm was Enrique Cruz)

  • As a side note, the best defensive infielder and best infield arm after the 2004 season was JJ Hardy.
