Sort of like a bandaid on a gunshot wound, no?
I mean…isn’t it blatantly obvious that it was the pitchers that weren’t good? I’m not Bill Castro Jr., or anything. Just saying.
I don’t have a category for "washed-up guys who may or may not be dominant big-league closers sometime soon."

True, but they need to pick someone, don't they?
If our pitchers that had been developed by the system were great, I’d say we should look internally, but they’re not, so I think external is the way to go.
Agreed

I think it’s about time Macha has a chance to choose his own staff considering their performance directly effects his job. I would think he should be allowed to chose a new hitting coach as well.
Why would we want to replace Sveum?
The hitting really hasn’t been a problem this year, and Hart, Braun, and even Prince have displayed marked improved plate discipline (admittedly Prince’s was already very good to begin with, but it’s even better this year). Obviously, it’s unknown how much of that can be attributed to Sveum, but still: if it ain’t broke, why fix it?
Brewers Baseball and other assorted nonsense (mostly the assorted nonsense) at my blog, What's a Tararrel?
i agree
aside from Hardy, the hitters have been more patient. I was impressed with Hart’s line today (ignore the pickoff), especially since he was soooooo awful at the beginning of this season and the second half of last season when it came to sliders.

I think I would welcome him aboard
Here’s an interesting article/interview I found with him
battlekow: Bill is having an oppo-gasm
you would br too in the heyday of Zito, Mulder, and Hudson
I think everything from the A’s of the early 90s got overrated pretty quickly
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."
