SBNation Coverage
If you missed this game, you didn't miss much. Chris Carpenter needed only two hours and 18 minutes and 99 pitches to throw a complete game shut-out against the Crew. The lineup, which featured only two of the opening day starters (Prince Fielder and Jason Kendall), could only manage one hit off the Cardinal ace: a fifth inning double by Jody Gerut. Carpenter stuck out 10 Brewers in his winning effort.
Dave Bush, who was pummeled by the Cards in his last outing, pitched very well, throwing seven strong innings and striking out three. The only blemish on his record was a two run double by, who else, Albert Pujols. Mark DiFelice allowed a run in the eighth and Chris Narveson pitched a scoreless ninth.

It was fun while it lasted.
The Brewers have won 8 games just like that this year. I call them luck wins.

I no longer remember what I said, but it was apparently bad enough to get the whole thread nixed.
