They should stick Hardy in center for fun

Brewers have to play over .600 from here on
to finish .500
The Cardinals are not very good against lefties
Maybe that’s why Manny has done well against them, Rock.

It still gets me to see RBI: Fielder (120+) in box scores.

I'm sure in some way they disrespected the game just now

Smoltz
He has five homers and three steals in his career. I guess anything can happen if you play long enough.

Pitchers cycle
Catfish Hunter hit .350 in 1971 for Oakland while winning 21 games. Among his hits were one double, one triple and one home run. And just for good measure he stole a base too. He held out the next year until Charlie Finley gave him an extra $10,000 for his hitting prowess
I'm surprised Finley didn't require him to use a colorful bat as retaliation

Notice absence of Kendall.
Coincidence? I think not.

My favorite was the check swing broken bat foul
Sucks that Villanueva couldn’t get a bunt down but in his defense he hasn’t batted for three weeks.

For anybody who wanted to see what it's like to have Corey Patterson in your everyday line-up:
That, right there, times eleventy-billion. That’s it.

Replacement Level Player would be a significant upgrade
E: George 4 (5, throw, throw, throw, throw).
What is it about this guy that makes GMs give him chance after chance after chance?
Was it the one good month in ‘03? The 45 bases he stole while putting up a .317 OBP for the O’s? The relentless hype before he ever got to the bigs? Do his farts have magical properties? What is it? I need to know.
It's because he looks like Eddie Gaedel with those high socks
You don’t pass on a guy who looks like a guy who never made an out.

I would like to see Patterson battle the last Brewers OF to wear #10 for playing time

I had to laugh
when i saw the lineup tonight and Patterson was hitting something like .105 and Parra was something in the neighborhood of .143, thats right, our PITCHER has a better BA than our leadoff hitter. HORRIBLE
What a disrespectful inning for Carlos.
The Brewers have won 8 games just like that this year. I call them luck wins.
Guess not
C’mon Mat, clear the leadoff man.

Patterson struck out three times in three at-bats. Other than that, the usual.

Macha is brilliant
Starts Patterson and tells him to strike out 3 times just to set up the RBI situation against a lefty reliever. Too bad Bourgeois didn’t come through for him.

Dave Krynzel heroics
Looks like he hit the game winning HR in the 10th inning yesterday for the Norfolk Tides in their final game. I didn’t realize he was still playing.
Heh, weird
I hadn’t thought of him in forever until my comment about the last Brewers OF to wear #10.

on the bright side the pitching update for the gamethread will be easy tomorrow:
everyone pitched yesterday

How did the Cardinals get Blake Hawksworth?
Wasn’t he at Nashville at the start of the season?
weird
Journal-Sentinel from April 24: “Mat Gamel and Brendan Katin each drove in three runs to lead the Sounds over Memphis, 7-6. Nashville’s Blake Hawksworth recovered after giving up four runs in the first.”
Why throw him something he can hit?
Everything in the dirt. Holliday’s dumb enough to chase one of them. Jesus.
The zone is pretty goofy tonight.

he's rusty
how many saves does he have since the asb?

overworked and the cardinals dont need the win

is there really any danger of blowing the save?
