This would be absolutely hilarious
if it weren’t so sad.
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."
So how many days does Ned have to leave home?
I wonder what the Special Advisor to Baseball Operations actually does. Also, wouldn’t Chris Sabo have an in somewhere for that position based solely on his last name?
Not entirely sure what they do, but I can try to explain some things.
“Baseball Operations” is the part of the business dedicated to baseball. Not too difficult to understand, but that is to separate that division from Marketing, Finance, HR, etc.
As a special advisor, as I understand it, he will assist the GM in making personnel decisions. This also includes going on recruiting trips and wining and dining the free agents.
Applying Simpsons and Star Wars quotes to Brewers discussions since 2009.
That makes sense....
I have often thought a guy like Ned could be a big asset to an organization, as long as you did the opposite of what he said.
The idea of the Royals wining and dining FAs, is hilarious.
“Ned, we have a code red… Jason Kendall just got an offer from the Long Island Ducks, head over to his place with a six pack of Schlitz and a bag of Rold Gold, and make sure we don’t lose him.”

The Schlitz has to be room temperature as well.

How similar is this to "Assistant TO the Regional Manager"?

Step 1:
Trade Greinke to the Brewers for some guys who are just 1 pitch away, but really battle.

Hey, don't link to parody sites!
…wait, that is the real KC Royals site.
At least we now know how they are sneaking Trey Hillman’s replacement onto the payroll.
Clearly, Dayton Moore is a BCB reader.
“The Brewers’ manager of the decade is available? Get me my phone!”
That's all I've got for you today, unless you're interested in some Chris Capuano/Tom Haudricourt Fan Fiction.

I was very tempted to leave off the (for the Royals) part, because the .2 seconds of fury before someone actually clicked the link would be worth it a thousand times over.

Awesome.
Just curious, Have Jason Kendall and Ned Yost ever combined efforts to win a championship?

The Royals were one of the most consistently solid baseball orgs. They have really lost their way.

Must have taken a wrong turn in Albuquerque.

But that was back when they were still the Kansas City Athletics, right?

Is there any sports franchise less intelligent than the Kansas City Royals?

I still think the Royals are the dumbest.
