Winter League Update for 1/14/2010
In the Dominican Republic: Carlos Gomez went 1-for-3 in Escogido's 3-1 win over Licey.
With the win, Escogido improved to 8-7, two games back of first place Cibao.
In Mexico: Luis Cruz went 2-for-4 with two home runs and drove in three Tuesday in Culiacan's 8-5 loss to Hermosillo. He followed that up by going 1-for-4 on Wednesday as Culiacan lost 4-2.
I'm really not sure how the LMP playoffs work at this point. Culiacan lost their first round series but advanced to the semifinals anyway, where they now trail 0-2.
In Puerto Rico: Martin Maldonado (playing first and third base, not catching) went 1-for-4 with a double for Mayaguez.

LMP Playoffs
There were six teams to start, so one of the three losing teams gets a wild card spot in the semifinals. I would guess it either goes by wins in the first round or highest seed to lose.
The site you linked to with the McGehee Caribbean banning item said Culiacan was the 5th seed behind Mexicali who lost their series in five games, so it probably goes by the most wins in the first round.
hmm
if we lost our first round and advanced, i’d say having us down 0-2 in the second round puts us in pretty good shape.
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
Maybe it is scored like Golf
If the goal is to give the other team runs in the playoffs, Soup could be making A-rod-like money
