The Thursday Thinker: A triple down Memory Lane
As a team, the Brewers compiled 6296 plate appearances in 2009, and tripled in just 37 (roughly 0.6%) of them.
With that said, sixteen Brewers with at least five triples finished their Brewer career with more triples than home runs. How many can you name in five minutes?
Again, here are the rules: Post your score in the comments, but do not comment on any specific answer until after 6 pm Central time, so everyone gets a chance to try it out without having it spoiled for them. And, of course, there's no reason to cheat here, because there's no prizes.
I suppose it's possible, but I doubt anyone will get them all: Five minutes isn't much time, and we're talking about some pretty obscure Brewers here. If you somehow manage to get them all, though, post your time along with your score in the comments.
Have fun, and don't forget to post your score in the comments!

This was a tough one
Cards Announcers On Gamel's First Career HR, "That’s all they need is another home run hitter".
I'm not even attempting this one.
I did take a look at the answers, and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have gotten any.
Don't worry
I only got 1. And I wouldn’t have gotten my lone answer without reading the Mug.

Nice quiz. Some new names for sure.
There was one I would have never guessed, the other 2 I would have maybe gotten with more time.

One interesting note, the sixteen players on the list hit a combined 123 home runs as Brewers. An despite (for the most part) being all speed and no power guys, only two of those home runs were inside the park homers.
One by the 16/9 guy, the other by the 6/3 guy (against Mariano Rivera). The 6/4 guy had two career inside the park home runs and both came against the Brewers.

And the one I got probably shouldn’t be on the list, since you said “finished their Brewer career with more triples than home runs” and the player in question is poised to put up a 20 HR season in 2010!
Ryan Braun: He loves it.
Jim Gantner?
-Please note Jim Gantner is not a correct answer because even though he did not have home run power, he also didn’t have triple speed (hell, he didn’t really have double speed)

And there was one name I would have guessed if I had remembered him (I was plugging in as many middle infielders’ names as I could think of).

So you missed Prince Fielder?

Please. No spoilers until after 6 PM Central.

That was a nasty one. I possibly could’ve/should’ve guessed one or two more, but I was pleasantly surprised to get as many as I did.

Should have been 8. I thought about the leader but didn’t type in his name.

"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."
so irritated!
i can’t believe i missed the 42/35 guy and the 16/9! they were two of my favorites, growing up (and obviously before i paid much attention to statistics :/ ).
I suxxor
What? no Shouse?
got 1,2,4. would have had the 11/5 ROY, but spelled his name sh rather than ch. Surprised Graffinino wasn’t on the list. dunno how I missed the 12/1 or the 7/1….or the 12/0 because of my insistence to type in names like smith and jones to every sporacle quiz

Wow. I suck.
