I am suprised to see that Chris Smith was DFA’d over Luis Cruz and Tim Dillard. Neither does anything well, at least Chris Smith had a decent change up.
What happened to Sackmann's post?

I posted it, saw that mykenk beat me to it, deleted mine and promoted his.
i’m still getting the hang of this blogging thing.
Also, cheese.

haha I believe your post was something like:
Dear Internet,
I have been using you for some time now, and I’ve got my typing skills up to about 50 words a minute. This post should be WAAAAYYY before anyone else’s.
Joe Inglett of the Texas Melvins was signed by the Milwaukee Melvins today. Chris Smith was DFA’d to make room.
Wait… Really? How? …..MYKEEEEENNNNNKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, cheese.

Inglett was the one who hit the grand slam in the famed
Dave Bush near no-hitter, Fielder in-the-park-homer, Branyan homer, near 6 run implosion in the 9th game against the Blue Jays in 2008.
E: George 4 (5, throw, throw, throw, throw).
So, that answers questions about whether there will be room in the bull pen for Bush/Parra/Suppan.
Provided Riske remains on the DL for a period of time, they won’t have to worry about options and whatnot.

His Triple-A and MLB stats are decent...
I wonder if he’ll fill the extra bench spot since he seems to be able to play both IF and OF.
@Haudricourt: Brewers GM Doug Melvin likes Joe Inglett as contact hitter off bench. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/82825007.html

nope.
If you remember, I wrote yesterday that Melvin said he was considering making another move. I asked him if this was it and he said no. "I"m still working on something else," he said.

So this must have just been thought about today?
Or did Doug figure it wasn’t even worth mentioning?
That's what I assumed...
… though it’s a little curious why he’s suddenly being so circumspect about it, I suppose. If TH thought it was Mulder, I’m assuming he’d say so given how much ink has been spilled linking Mulder and the Brewers in the last two months…

Uh oh
If TH is starting to write the mug, I might have to exit stage left…

I may continue to read and comment, to the dismay of many and the joy of me!

His most important stat, from a Brewers' management perspective
From his BR page, 2008 positions played:
479/568D

so, no 3-2-1
but still contact? (hitter off the bench)

Exactly
We already counsel for versatility and Inglett’s MiLB stats look a lot like the Hurricane’s…though Iribarren is about seven years younger. I’ll reserve judgment.
Weird that Chris Smith was let go
Also, this doesn’t bode well for us Heethens.
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
Unless some other team claims him, he'll just be at AAA next year

My favorite Chris Smith-related memory
is this photo which appeared in tristarscoop’s blog last July (I’m assuming she took it but am certain she will correct me if I’m wrong):
Best “homemade” jersey ever! Take that, CC!
You've got a couple screws missin' up in your toolbox, if you think that you'll stop this man from hittin' moonshots.
That was somebody from thsi blog, too, IIRC

All the better, then
July 2009 was before I was following BCB regularly.
