Wow, that's pretty ridiculous actually
Oh well, it gives Greinke a chance to show up the Morans in the sports media and throw a perfect game in Yankee Stadium.
Ryan Braun: He loves it.
Yeah but he didn't particularily pitch that well against those teams.
Don't sweat the petty things, and don't pet the sweaty things.

Not really
Red Sox
Career: 5-5, 4.38 ERA, 1.181 WHIP
2010: 1-3, 5.34 ERA, 1.088 WHIP
Yankees
Career: 1-4, 6.55 ERA, 1.705 WHIP
2010: 0-1, 7.50 ERA, 1.500 WHIP
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
Not so good against the Rays either (at least not after his TJ surgery)
Career: 2-2, 3.17 ERA, 1.055 WHIP
2010: 0-2, 5.55 ERA, 1.479 WHIP
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
damn...so he sucks against good teams?
was he always drawing the basement dwellers and the #5 opposing pitchers?

At least good AL teams
He does fairly well against the Twins:
Career: 2-1, 3.55 ERA, 1.121 WHIP
2010: 1-0, 2.57 ERA, 0.857 WHIP
As well as against NL teams (which is probably more important):
Career: 6-1, 3.34 ERA, 1.165 WHIP
2010: 3-0, 2.74 ERA, 1.217 WHIP
Pujols is the Barack Obama of baseball.
hmm well proven wrong
must have mis-read a stat at some point

I'm surprised a bigger deal isn't made over this...
Everyone is saying the Reds/Cards/Brewers are within a couple games of each other… The Cardinals have a three game lead on the Brewers right now simply because of the schedule.
Sign Carl Pavano!!!
If Gallardo or Greinke is starting, I'm thinking we should.
Or for Gomez, depending on who is hitting better.
wait..what?

The Rule provides as follows:
A hitter may be designated to bat for the starting pitcher and all subsequent pitchers in any game without otherwise affecting the status of the pitcher(s) in the game
…
The Designated Hitter may be used defensively, continuing to bat in the same position in the batting order, but the pitcher must then bat in the place of the substituted defensive player, unless more than one substitution is made, and the manager then must designate their spots in the batting order.
…
Once the game pitcher is switched from the mound to a defensive position this move shall terminate the Designated Hitter role for the remainder of the game.
Once a pinch hitter bats for any player in the batting order and then enters the game to pitch, this move shall terminate the Designated Hitter role for the remainder of the game.
Once the game pitcher bats … this move shall terminate the Designated Hitter role for the remainder of the game. (The game pitcher may only pinch-hit for the Designated Hitter).

In other words...
no trickery by having gomez take the mound for the first pitch/batter and then swapping him for the pitcher, who was in CF until then.

Shrug
Win more NL games than anyone else, then it isn’t an issue.
I never use a big word when a diminutive word would suffice.
Looking forward to making the trip to Yankee Stadium
So that’s cool. Playing the Yankees? Not so much.

As a Brewers fan in NYS
I’m planning on making trips for games vs the Yanks as well as BoSox, and I’m foolishly optimistic enough about Marcum and Grienke to be excited to watch them!
There was a surprisingly large number of Brewer fans at Fenway in 2008
I’d guess there will be a decent amount of fans again for the BOS and NYY games, especially if the team is playing well.

how long ago was that announced?
because I got a refrigerator magnet with this schedule almost a month ago. Come through that stretch at 500, and the division is ours
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."

Back then it didn't matter what the Brewers' schedule was...
