Apparently he was told he'd be the starting first baseman at Brevard County next season, but decided to pursue other ventures.

He’s only 23 years old, but he probably figured that with a position change in Class A he probably didn’t have a meaningful shot at the majors.
After my comments about Desme's decision, it'd serve me right.
But he told Chris Mehring he’s a “9 to 5 working stiff” now.
There must be more to the story than this. He wasn’t exactly a top prospect, but this guy was young, productive and moving up. It’s weird for him to suddenly quit.
