The first three or four hitters will be out for revenge!
And the other eight innings will fail to inspire much of anything.
Hopefully it'll be on the old tele
I’d be sad to miss this.

Craig Counsell just looked up from eating his wheaties and went into a primal scream

I must have missed something here
What happened between Counsell and Sheets?

Here's another good twitter post
These skanks that are demanding an apology from Tiger Woods… have they called Elin yet to apologize to her? That seems like step one.
I wonder if <a href=“http:// ”http://twitter.com/Haudricourt/status/9543949138" target="_blank">http://twitter.com/Haudricourt/status/9543949138" >Tommy’s editors would be OK with that kind of chauvanistic shit.

unless you're calling elin a man
it’s not quite chauvanistic. Perhaps it’s chivalry – upholding the virtue of some women while treating them as property and belittling them as a whole

Calling a woman a skank isn't chauvanistic?
who knew?

not chauvanistic
idiotic and asshole-worthy, yes

chauvinistic
Yes, I am the sort of person who corrects other people’s spelling mistakes. Also, Pags is right: it would be chauvinistic had he claimed in some way the inherent superiority of men to women.

Then, by definition, using a term degrading to women is
CHAUVINISTIC
Thanks for correcting the spelling.

It's not degrading to women, it's degrading to skanks...
lumping them all in together gives women a bad name,
Shruggity
he didn't call Elin a skank or ho:P
Perhaps he was too crass.
I think the point was that these other women who Tiger hooked up with aren’t owed an apology by a guy that they full well knew was married (or could have easily found out if they’re not celebrety trackers) and they willingly had an affair/fling with. And if there is any apologizing to be done, it should be woman-to-woman (them to Elan) and not having done so degrades themselves and their fellow womankind, perhaps to the level of skankitude, and makes them look like they were in it for either the a) money or b) ability for it to get them exposure in the press down the line.
But that’s probably too long for a Tweet:P
For the record, I wouldn’t call his women a skank – the responsibility for cheating falls squarely on Tiger’s shoulders (assuming all the other women were themselves not cheating on anyone else). I think any apogizing should be Tiger to Elan and that the other women need not involve themselves – it’s not their concern.

Well, this has been a fun semantic argument
but the point really is that I find it particularly unprofessional of Haudricourt.

Where's the line?
He uses it to report news for his job…

I think the line ends past the blog.
But I can see where others might think otherwise.
If it was one of the Journal-Sentinel Twitter feeds, then I agree, that’s out of line.
Shruggity
I think it comes down to being someone who is 'known'
If Mel Gibson makes anti-semitic comments to a police officer when he’s pulled over, its still on him, and something his employers think twice about prior to casting him, and it certainly becomes associated with him and the things he does.
If Bob Costas Tweets that the German bobsled team is a bunch of dickheads, I’ll bet NBC throws a fit.
If my local weather man Tweets that his friend’s wife is a bitch, I’ll bet the local channel gets upset, because people will then think “wow, David George is a prick, I think I’ll watch Bob Lindmeier”. I don’t see how this is any different.

Odds
What are the odds that he actually makes his first ST appearance?
2:1 that he develops a tightness somewhere between now and then.

Now that it's against the Brewers, I'd say it's a bonifide lock.
That's all I've got for you today, unless you're interested in some Chris Capuano/Tom Haudricourt Fan Fiction.
(That he pitches, that is.)
