Actually
He will make $1.75M.
He got a 50% paycut for having his career year. Yikes!

crap
can’t wait for him to light up the Crew this year.
Q: Did you ever scout Corey Hart? What seems to be holding him back from being a good hitter for AVG?
A: The slider away. And that facial hair.

“Filling many needs at once, the club on Saturday announced the signing of utility player Felipe Lopez to a one-year, $1 million base with another $1.2 million in potential appearance incentives. The deal immediately augments the team’s flexibility while quieting concerns over what had projected as a young, vulnerable bench while ending Lopez’ frustrating winter of waiting.”
Jesus
Anyone else shocked at how cheap that is?

Oh come on

I'm not shocked
I would have been shocked if he signed for that right away, but the further into february he went without a job, the more likely it was going to be that he’d sign a tiny little deal, just for the sake of having a job.
Shruggity
Only with the February caveat
I thought you were implying you thought he would sign with the Brewers for $1MM in November.

I hope our fans aren't that ignorant
if the brewers made an offer of similar or more money, then yes, they’d have a reason to boo. But they’re the one that didn’t offer him arb or a contract.

Me too.
My only question is, will he get a lecture from The Arbiter (thanks the Jay) regarding his decision to untuck last year? Or will he be presumed to have seen the light of proper baseball decorum since he’s wearing a red hat with a bird on it?
What begins in fear usually ends in folly.

Grrrrrrr.
It would have been worth the 1.75 to keep him of the Cards. They just got better.
Contracts 3 months ago =/= contracts now

I wouldn't be surprised to see him flounder this year.
I look forward to him not diving for a ball hit by the Brewers.
