NOOOO!

HURRICANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by NoahJ on Mar 11, 2010 7:41 PM CST reply actions

Weird

I heard reports during the game he was DFAd but still got into the game.

by SgtClueLs on Mar 11, 2010 7:46 PM CST via mobile reply actions

Does that mean the hurricane can be claimed?

If so I wonder if they let him go early as a favor to give him time to catch on another big league roster.

And I thought that he had a chance to make the team this year. Hopefully he will catch on with a team that has a spot.

With Inglett, Edmonds, and Gerut in camp

I suppose there wasn’t much room for a guy who really only plays second and the outfield.

by TheJay on Mar 11, 2010 8:43 PM CST reply actions

But will they keep all three?

Also, I suppose that they have enough depth at 2B with Weeks, Counsell and Inglett.

by sjlee on Mar 11, 2010 9:38 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah, that was the point

They have enough veteran depth in camp, especially veteran LH hitting depth, that they won’t lose sleep over the possibility of losing Iribarren.

by TheJay on Mar 11, 2010 9:45 PM CST up reply actions

with lofgren

do the indians have to put him on their 40 man if they take him back. In other words, is there a chance we can keep him and put him in AAA?

by PagsBrewCrew on Mar 11, 2010 8:57 PM CST reply actions

Yeah, if Iribarren clears waivers they can outright him to the minors

The Indians could decide to let the Brewers keep Lofgren or the teams could work out a trade.

by TheJay on Mar 11, 2010 9:04 PM CST up reply actions

He has to clear waivers before he's offered back to CLE

If another team wants him they can claim him, but they have to deal with the same roster restrictions.

Pet peeve

It is the Rule 5 draft, not Rule V. Major League Rule 5 covers the draft, and the rule book doesn’t use Roman numerals.

by TheJay on Mar 11, 2010 9:06 PM CST reply actions

You're right of course

I know why it’s called the Rule 5 draft, just was trying to overcomplicate things.

E: George 4 (5, throw, throw, throw, throw).

by Jordan M on Mar 11, 2010 9:51 PM CST up reply actions

I think they should mix in some Roman numerals

Rule XXX would cover finances in Bud Selig’s office.

not surprised about Lofgren

Narveson’s been great this spring.

by morineko on Mar 11, 2010 9:40 PM CST reply actions

Narveson has had the best ST of any starter.

I wonder if that’ll just one more reason the Brewers release Bush soon.

That's too bad for Iribarren.

A career .314 hitter, he probably should’ve gotten a better shot at sticking with the big league club.

by BrewHaHeather on Mar 11, 2010 9:59 PM CST reply actions

Who knows

He might get picked up by another organization if he is DFA and given a shot.

by sjlee on Mar 12, 2010 5:30 PM CST up reply actions

Also

Despite his respectable BA, his biggest asset is his speed. He doesn’t hit for power, but he doesn’t take many walks.
