Roster moves galore
Chris Capuano has had a setback in his rehab from Tommy John surgery after experiencing inflammation in his elbow. It's unknown when he'll pitch again.
The Brewers have released John Halama, ending his comeback bid.
Finally, the Brewers have sent reliever Omar Aguilar to the Indians in a deal that will allow them to keep Rule 5 pick Chuck Lofgren.
All three are noted via Tom Haudricourt's Twitter.

Bummer about Cappy
Have to wonder if he’s just resting the arm or if this mark the end of his career. :(
Yeah, the curtain may be coming down
I’ve been hopeful, but everyone reaches their own end eventually.
That's too bad.
The “Young and the Restless” curse is complete or almost complete… depending on how you look at it.
Ditto
I was really hoping that he could be successful.

This has to be pretty close to the end.
If his elbow, which checked out at “full strength” in a physical to open camp, can’t handle the load of a few innings a week, there’s likely not a role where he could help a team at this point.
That's all I've got for you today, unless you're interested in some Chris Capuano/Tom Haudricourt Fan Fiction.

Aguilar for Lofgren?
Should I be surprised by this?
Cards Announcers On Gamel's First Career HR, "That’s all they need is another home run hitter".
I wouldnt be
Both are prospects who have fallen out of favor who had/have little chance of being impact players.
Upside
was a #3 starter for Chuck and setup guy for Omar.
I guess I’d go with the starter upside than another Turnbow, even if the upside has shrunk to a #5 starter and/or depth guy.

And
With Capuano and Halama gone, all of a sudden there’s a spot for him in the rotation in Nashville.
That's all I've got for you today, unless you're interested in some Chris Capuano/Tom Haudricourt Fan Fiction.
Bummer.
I’ve always liked Cappy and I really hope he can be successful again, but with every bump in the road I get a little less optimistic.
halama
his face after he left the mound yesterday had the look of someone knowing his days were numbered. i felt bad for the guy, clearly knew he hadn’t helped his case and would most likely be gone soon. not gonna miss him, but good luck anyways
The Young and the Restless Curse
I see this curse mentioned once in a while but does anybody really realize how bad it was?
Jeff Suppan: Had an ERA of 3.49 at the taping of Y&R. This started going up immediately and was at 5.00 by July 7th. He has since never recovered and is now the wealthiest laughing stock of any baseball club sans the Giants (thanks Barry).
Chris Capuano: Having won the first 7 games Capuano pitched in, the Brewers went on to lose the next 22 (yes, twenty-two) straight games where Capuano made an appearance, the final 20 of which occurred after the Y&R taping. Now he seems like he may be done.
J.J. Hardy: Sporting an ungodly .312/.355/.602 line at the time of taping, Hardy predictably dropped back down to earth, beginning the night of the taping. His OPS dropped 170 points by October, finishing at a respectable .786. The following seasons saw no real upswing from J.J., resulting in a trade.
Bill Hall: Having 6 home runs a month and a half into the season, he only hit 8 more post-Y&R. His OPS dropped over 40 points by the end of the year and he never again hit above .225 or .400 slugging. Also traded due to suckiness.
This really is an epic curse. All this, and we somehow made the playoffs since (thanks C.C.)

STD?
Were there off-set shenanigans? Something that affects motor coordination to this day? Kinda fast for the progression of neural syphilis, but makes you wonder…

maybe
Suppan is only so religious in public because in private he’s a hedonist.
Kinda like some of the most vocal gay bashers are sometimes concerned about their own sexuality.

Dear Y & R
Your ratings would spike if you had Albert Pujols and Matt Holliday…
-might as well give it a shot :)
